Gov. Arthur Yap led the distribution of financial assistance to beneficiaries of the Special Program of the Employment of Students (SPES) under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). This was done on Oct. 18, 2021, according to the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) on Oct. 19, 2021.
Almost P900,000 in funds were distributed to beneficiaries from Tagbilaran City, Panglao, Dauis and Loon during the said activity at the Capitol.
As this developed, the governor also gave financial aid to 20 freelance tourism workers from Balilihan, Calape, Catigbian and Sikatuna.
The governor also provided medical assistance to Zandro Mortejo, the report adds.
In his message, the governor urged the youth to help in combatting the pandemic that remains in our midst by following the health protocol.
Aside from the governor, other officials in attendance in the said activity were Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, Tagbilaran City mayor John Geesnell Yap, First Lady Jane Yap, DOLE regional director Salome Siaton, and other national government agency and local officials.
