SP approves PGBh employees’ PBB

All qualified officials and employees of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) are set to receive in the coming days a cash incentive under the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol (SP) led by Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos approved on Tuesday, October 20, 2021 an Appropriation Ordinance approving Supplemental Budget No. 8.

The said budget measure is meant to fund the PBB of all eligible employees.

Provincial Budget Officer Peter Ross Retutal explained during the pre-session conference that this budget measure covers the documentary requirements for the 2020 bonus for qualified officials and personnel of PGBh.

According to Retutal, the grant of PBB recognizes the PGBh for its service efforts to pass local government standards to include, among others, the Seal of Good Governance.

Retutal added that in the province of Bohol, there are only 11 local government units (LGU) that were awarded with the PBB, namely; Tagbilaran City, Corella, Danao, Loon, Panglao, Sierra Bullones, Talibon, Trinidad, Tubigon, Bien Unido and San Miguel.

The identification of these LGUs were transmitted through a Memorandum dated May 19, 2021.

As per guidelines, the PBB will be computed based on the salaries of employees last year and it will be sourced from the general services funds.

Accordingly, the best delivery units will receive 65% of their monthly salary, followed by the better delivery units, which will be receiving 57.5%, and the good delivery units which will receive 50%.

Meanwhile, the guidelines also set a minimum requirement of employment tenure of at least 3 months, while those who have worked between 3 months and 9 months will receive pro-rated incentives according to the number of months the employee has served the PGBh.

As emphasized by Vice Governor Rene Relampagos, the granting of the cash benefit is given directly to the employees for them to feel their service award.

Relampagos likewise hoped the service award will motivate the employees to enhance their performance in serving the public and be aligned with the targets and goals the province has set to achieve.
