SP supports building of Bohol Arena in Talibon

The initial phase for the construction of the sports and exhibition center in Talibon, known as the Bohol Arena gains the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).

The initial phase of the construction of the Bohol Arena will start soon, as the authority of Gov. Arthur C. Yap to sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for its implementation was approved by the SP on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.

According to the Head of the Provincial Engineering Office, Engr. Camilo Gasatan, the arena will be constructed in San Roque, Talibon, Bohol in a 10-hectare lot owned by Talibon municipality.

Gasatan further said the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) which will be entered into by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) and the DPWH is intended to set the preparatory activities and the conceptualization of the Detailed Engineering Design of the said project.

Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos said the Bohol Arena is one of the priority projects of the PGBh under the current administration. 

This big project envisions providing an alternative venue on the other side of the province for large events aside from holding them here in Tagbilaran City and nearby towns.

“Kini usa ka dako nga project which will give an alternative venue in the province nga makahimo ug dagko nga events. Ang tuyo nato niini nga dile lamang dire sa Tagbilaran nga makahold kita ug dinagko nga events kundi sa lain usab nga lugar sa province, ug adto nato gibutang sa lungsod sa Talibon,”Relampagos said in an interview.

He further said the construction of the Bohol Arena in Talibon is a huge development in the northern part of the province. With its implementation, more projects and expansions are envisioned to be developed in the area which can attract local and international investors for opportunities for business and entrepreneur pursuits. 

The project likewise envisions promoting and boosting its eco-tourism destinations and attractions.

Meanwhile, Board Member Restituto Auxtero who is a native of Talibon said the people of Talibon are happy knowing the project will be implemented in their town.
