The vaccination program of Tagbilaran City finally achieved its goal needed for herd immunity.
The herd immunity has been achieved with the following activities done by the City Government: opening of 5 vaccination sites which operate 6 days a week, deployment of a mobile vaccination bus for the mobility-impaired, drive-thru vaccination kiosks for the tricycle drivers, barangay-led vaccination program, and the walk-in vaccination roll out inside the malls.
As of October 23, 2021 LGU Tagbilaran vaccinated already around 82% of its target population, exceeding the goal of inoculating 70% of the target population in order to achieve herd immunity.
Out of the 48 local governments in Bohol, Tagbilaran City topped the list, followed by Loboc with 42.55%, Sevilla with 38.09%, Panglao with 36.57%, Dimiao with 34.11%, Maribojoc with 32.92%, Sikatuna with 32.67%, Lila with 32.58%, and Loay with 31.68%, according to The City Media Bureau.
City Health Information Officer Robin Reyes Culpa announced that the City Health Office (CHO) finished the administration of first dose of the vaccine vaccine to 41,381 individuals who, after two to three weeks, will be given the second dose in order to become fully vaccinated.
City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II is truly grateful to the dedicated efforts of the city’s medical frontliners.
“The hardwork they have to put in to make this vaccination drive successful is indeed remarkable. Tagbilaran City is thankful to all their sacrifices. We are inviting those who haven’t been vaccinated to get the jab. You are not only protecting yourself, but you are also protecting the people around you,” Mayor Yap said.
