Wedding Celebration

Richard Connor & Virginia Baliog

2nd Wedding Anniversary

This is a love story of a man who is from Florida, USA and a lady who is from Baliihan, Bohol.

The man, who is the groom, is Richard and the lady, who is the bride is Virgie. Richard and Virgie’s love story started on June of 2010. On August of the same year, courtship began and towards the end of the year, Richard proposed marriage to Virgie. They held their civil marriage on March 8, 2013 to be exact. On October 5, 2019, they decided to have their church marriage ceremony.

So, this month is their SECOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY for their church marriage. As we greet the couple a happy wedding anniversary, let us have a look at their wedding celebration, a year ago.

Our bride is Virginia Baliog of Balilihan, Bohol who is now based in Florida, USA. She is the youngest of the eight (8) siblings of Heracleo Baliog (+) & Filomina Baliog. Virgie is a registered nurse and is connected with Companies Baycare Healthcare System and VA Medical Center, also located in Florida, USA.

Our groom is Richard Connor – residing, too, at Florida, USA. Richard is the son of Andrew Connor & Linda Overcast. Richard is a park ranger and is working in the City of Pinellas Park, Florida, USA.

The Richard-Virgie wedding ceremony, which started at 10:00 in the morning of October 5, was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Church, Balilihan, Bohol with Rev. Fr. Alvin Pusta as the officiating priest.

The wedding banquet that followed the church ceremony was held at the Harbor View of the Bohol Tropics Resort with J Studio as the photo & video artists covering the event.

The banquet program started with the acknowledgement of the parents of the groom and parents of the bride, including the principal and secondary sponsors, the bearers and the flower girls.

This was followed by the processional of the entourage composed of the groomsmen, bridesmaids, bestman and the maid of honor and, of course, the grand march of the groom and the bride.

The wedding prayer and the blessing before meals came next and this was led by Nat Cyrus Asufra, a nephew of the bride.

The following numbers of the program were then presented and delivered: the prenup slideshow; the messages of Gregorio Llorente, a retired Principal and Fe Gracia Inting, a retired Educator; the dances; the cake and wine ceremony; the messages by Estela Baliog & Rose Chatto; the ceremonial toast sponsored by Bert Leo Baliog, a call center supervisor; the bouquet & garter ceremonies; and the SDE video presentation.

The thank you message of the new couple definitely touched the hearts of the guests as the latter were ushered into the after-party celebration highlighting the performance of the unmatched singing prowess of of J-Ann Ariate.

There were other service providers who contributed a lot to the success of the event, like the following: the Blue Grass Project of Michael Yu & Boy Dumadag as florists; Donna Betos & his team for the hair & make-up services; the Family Life Apostolate as the church choir; Lola Lilia’s for the wedding cake; and Mackie Pro for the sound system.

Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta led the “SMILE”, Philippines team for the on-the-day wedding coordination; she was also the celebration master of ceremonies of the said wedding.
