Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo had a meeting on Nov. 3, 2021, which tackled several new projects including a new tourist attraction that is going to be hosted by a majority of Badjao members, a report sent to The Bohol Tribune says.
In attendance during the said meeting were the Imam Mario Coham of the Badjao tribe, representatives of the National Housing Authority, the Department of Justice, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Department of Environment and Natural Resouces and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The proposed project is eyed to be placed in Totolan, Dauis. More details about the plan are going to be revealed in the coming days, according to the report.
The Dauis mayor also inaugurated the Dauis Birthing Center located just beside the new Dauis Municipal Hall. The occasion coincided with the birth of a baby boy inside the center named Baby Bullanday.
The birthing center’s services are going to be free for Dauis residents. It has complete equipment and personnel and will officially open to the public as soon as it receives its license from the Department of Health which is currently pending. The center will cater for normal deliveries, the report adds.
In a comment, Dauis businessman Cylwin Bomediano wishes Dauis will have its own hospital to which, the mayor agrees and hopes the dream for a Dauis-based hospital will materialize.
Mayor Sumaylo and Liga ng mga Barangay-Dauis chapter President Josever Sumaylo also held a meeting last week with residents of Purok 7 Bingag, Dauis to begin construction of a new cemented barangay road in the area which shares a boundary with Tangnan, Panglao.
The meeting was also attended by Bingag Barangay Captain Rey Bomediano, and other Bingag barangay officials, Dauis Sangguniang Bayan members Violee Dano, Vieto Racho, Ian Joel Bomediano, Rhea Marie Pon, and Eric Aranjuez.
