Boholano places 8th in Oct. 2021 ECE exams

A Boholano is 8th placer in the Oct. 2021, Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) licensure examination, reports said.

Jacgil Antoni Banda Oculam, 23, who graduated from the University of San Carlos, is the son of a Boholana who is from barangay Bahi, Alburquerque town. His father died in 2015 due to a vehicular accident.

Oculam garnered a score of 88.10 percent in the said exam. He is actually tied with Johaimen Omar of Mindanao State University (MSU)-Marawi.

Based on the results released by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) around 710 out of 1,484 examinees passed the said examinations. This translates to a passing rate of 47.86%.

The ECE was conducted from October 24 to 25 at several testing centers located in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga. 

Oculam, according to reports, is a son of a lady overseas Filipino worker working in the United Kingdom. 

Oculam said he did not expect to be among the exam’s topnotchers, but he was confident that he will pass the said test.
