The first international flight since the start of the pandemic landed on the afternoon of Nov. 18, 2021, according to reports.
Reports say that Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) airport manager Anghelo Ybañez said around 120 passengers arrived in Bohol from Thailand.
This is the first time a flight from outside the Philippines landed at the BPIA following the travel restrictions imposed by the provincial government of Bohol (PGBh) as a result of its response to contain the Coronavirus disease (Covid).
The same reports add that the passengers were welcomed by a composite team from the Bohol Association of Hotel, Resorts and Restaurants (BAHRR), Provincial Tourism Council,l (PTO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Bureau of Quarantine (BoQ), and the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Department of Tourism (DOT), Bohol Tourism Office (BTO), among others.
These agencies form the one-stop shop which processed the documents and facilitated the quarantine of the arriving overseas Filipino workers (OFW) and returning overseas Filipinos (ROF).
They shall be subjected to a five-day quarantine at either Henann Resort or Roman Empire resort, the report mentions.
The OFWs and ROFs shall be subjected to a real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on the fifth day and will be released from quarantine upon yielding a negative result, reports bare.
The OWWA will be the one shouldering the expenses for the of the quarantine stay of OFWs while the Department of Tourism and the Bohol Tourism Office will handle the stay of the ROF.
