Gov. Arthur Yap has expressed his sadness over the death of Cebu City mayor Edgardo Labella.
The governor said that he already sent his condolences to the family of the late Cebu City mayor.
Labella, who had Boholano roots, died early morning of Nov. 19, 2021, according to acting mayor Michael Rama. He was 70 years old.
Labella had been on medical leave back in Sept. 2021.
Moreover, in a post on Facebook, Bohol 2nd district Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado also expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Labella.
Aumentado mentioned that Labella was a native of Tubigon town. According to reports the late city mayor traced his roots to barangay Pooc Occidental, Tubigon.
Labella won as mayor of Cebu in the 2019 elections as he defeated then incumbent mayor Tomas Osmeña.
Prior to his election as city mayor of Cebu City, he served as vice mayor and also as councilor, according to reports.
