Top Boholano pulmonologist has urged the people who are included in the vulnerable sectors to get booster shots.
Dr. Bryan Cepedoza made the appeal during a radio interview on Nov. 17, 2021, over “Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa” program hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
The doctor said that the ability of the immune system to protect against the Coronavirus disease (Covid) infection wanes over time.
He said that once booster shots are available, people, especially those who work in the medical facilities, those who are senior citizens and those with comorbidities, should make themselves available to get booster shots.
The Department of Health (DOH) announced that health care workers are eligible to get booster shots starting Nov. 17, 2021.
In a separate interview, Provincial Health Officer-in Charge Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez said his office is currently preparing the rollout of the administration of booster shots for health care workers.
Lopez admitted in the interview that the Provincial Health Office is still in the preparation process for the rollout of the booster shots for health care workers as it was given short notice regarding the booster shot rollout.
Moreover, the senior citizens and those with comorbidities are scheduled to get booster shots by next month, Lopez said in the same interview.
