Provincial administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto has cleared the air on the latest issuance of Gov. Arthur Yap, specifically Executive Order 56.
She made the clarifications in a radio interview over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa on Nov. 23, 2021 hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
She said the stipulations of the said EO are based on the resolution of the national Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and not from Gov. Yap.
The IATF has recently issued resolution 148-B series of 2021, which was the basis of the governor’s executive order.
The EO is meant to encourage on-site workers to get vaccinated. Pioquinto explained that on-site workers are those who actually work in a work area and those working from home are exempted from the requirements.
According to the EO, unvaccinated workers shall submit to real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test every 2 weeks or an antigen test once a week.
Pioquinto said that the provincial government will rely on the individual businesses to truthfully report regarding the compliance of the unvaccinated workers in terms of submitting themselves to testing.
However, those who are medically ineligible to get vaccinated need to get a clearance from either their respective rural health units, City Health Office or the Provincial Health Office.
The provincial administrator said, as of the moment, there is no issuance to deny service or entry to establishments to unvaccinated persons.
However, she admitted that this something that would be discussed in the next mayors’ meeting this Nov. 26, 2021.
Meanwhile, the City Government of Tagbilaran announces that booster shots for heath frontliners, senior citizens and those with comorbidities are now available.
The booster shots may be obtained at Bohol Quality Mall, Alturas Mall and Island City Mall on Nov. 25, 2021, Tagbilaran City mayor John Geesnell Yap said in a Facebook post.
Moreover, the City Government will also conduct a drive thru vaccination for tricycle and public utility jeepney drivers on Nov. 30, 2021 at the City Hall Grounds.
