Guv to wait for Sen. Bong Go’s pronouncement about senator’s presidential bid

Gov. Arthur C. Yap

Gov. Arthur Yap said he would wait for the pronouncements of Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go in the coming days before deciding which presidential bet to support in next year’s polls.

This was the statement of the governor during the regular virtual press conference on Nov. 26, 2021.

The governor attended the governors’ meeting on Nov. 24, 2021, at Malacañang with President Duterte where the latter asked for support to Go’s presidential bid.

Go, during the meeting, admitted to be having “difficulties” in his bid for the presidency.

Go has filed to run for president under Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) right before the deadline for substitution of candidates on Nov.  13, 2021.

As this developed, the governor and the rest of the Pundok Padayon Bol-anon have yet to make a decision on which presidential aspirant to support.

Meanwhile, in a radio interview on Nov. 25, 2021, Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap has categorically thrown her support to the candidacy of Go for president.

The wife of the city mayor made her statement over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa on Nov. 25, 2021, hosted by Gloria Leodivica Araneta and Dave Albarado.

The Tagbilaran first lady, who is running for city mayor, echoed what her husband said a week ago.

City mayor John Geesnell Yap expressed his support to Go’s aspiration to become the next president of the country.
