HNU hosts nat’l history, culture confab

Holy Name University will serve as the host institution of the modified virtual conference on history and culture from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 2021, a press release says.

With the theme “Kaagi ug Kabilin: Pagsipat sa mga Estadong Bayan at Sirkumnabigasyon sa Kasaysayan at Kalinangang Pilipino”, the conference will feature researches and studies that will spur discussions among historians, history, social science, and humanities educators, and history enthusiasts on the essence of Filipino identity after 500 years of discovery of the Philippines and its impact on the lives of the Filipinos in the present times.

The three-day conference is a special way of commemorating not only the 500 years of the first circumnavigation of the world but also the 400 years of Tamblot Revolt. 

On Nov. 30, 2021, there will also be a tribute to Gat Andres Bonifacio. This national gathering is supported by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Provincial Government of Bohol, and the City Government of Tagbilaran.
Holy Name University,in partnership with ADHIKA ng Pilipinas, Inc. invites teachers and students whose interest is on History, Filipino, Panitikan, and other courses which promote our cultural heritage.
