Mayor Baba to release decision on curfew next week

Tagbilaran City mayor John Geesnell Yap II said that  next week he will be making a decision on the curfew status for the city.
Mayor Yap made the revelation in a telephone interview yesterday, Nov. 27, 2021.

On Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, Coun. Augustinus Gonzaga filed a resolution urging the city mayor to consider the modification of the curfew in the city to help the businesses.
In a radio interview on Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on Friday, hosted by Chandymar Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado, Gonzaga said that it is high time to revisit the curfew to allow businesses to cater to customers longer and help spur more economic activity.

Gonzaga already approached the city mayor about the possibility of shortening the curfew hours if not removing it altogether.
He was told that Mayor Yap will consult Gov. Arthur Yap on the matter.

The city council has given the city mayor the latitude to decide on the duration of the curfew or to impose a curfew at all, Gonzaga said.
Currently, the curfew for all residents is from 10 pm to 4 am the following day.
