As the country conducts the first day of the National Vaccination Days today, Nov. 29, 2021, Bohol’s vaccination rate is still at 34.34%, which is far from the target of 70% in order to achieve herd immunity, according to the report of the Philippine Information Agency.

As Bohol targets to inoculate 80,000 Boholanos during the 3-day National Vaccination Days, the province is only able to fully vaccinate 329,411 Boholanos, based on the data of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF). The National Vaccination Days starts today until Dec. 1, 2021.

The good news is that despite the low vaccination rate, the number of Coronavirus disease (Covid) in the province has been declining, based on the report of the BIATF.

As of this writing, the BIATF says that there are only 82 active cases in the province.

The goal of the BIATF is to inoculate 673,310 Boholanos in order to achieve herd immunity.

Herd immunity means that it would be difficult for the virus that causes Covid to be transmitted from an infected person to another, according to health experts.
