Mayor Sumaylo saddened over Sen. Bong Go’s withdrawal from the presidency

Dauis mayor Marietta “Miriam” Sumaylo has expressed her sadness over the withdrawal of Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go from the presidency.

She expressed her sentiments during an interview over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa on Dec. 2, 2021, hosted by Gloria Leodivica Araneta and Dave Albarado.

She said that Bohol is “Bong Go country” and several mayors have already expressed their support for Go’s presidential aspirations.

Moreover, Sumaylo said that Go has been generous to all Bohol towns in terms of extending aid and assistance.

With Go’s withdrawal, Sumaylo said that she will be joining a consultation meeting soon with stalwarts of Pundok Padayon Bol-anon where the choice of presidential bet will be decided upon.

Earlier, Gov. Arthur Yap, the leader of Pundok Padayon Bol-anon, said that he will be attending a consultation meeting with President Duterte on Dec. 4, 2021 to find out the next moves of the administration following Go’s withdrawal from the presidential race in next year’s polls.

Pundok Padayon Bol-anon is a coalition of political partices which includes the Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipinas-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Cusi wing and the National Unity Party which is headed in the province by Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos.
