The Department of Health – Central Visayas (DOH-CV) has released a report about the partial accomplishment of the provinces in Central Visayas during the 3-day National Vaccination Days (NVD) which ran from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 2021.

The DOH report indicated that Bohol ranked first among all province in Central Visayas in terms of the percentage of jabs administered in relation to the given target by the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), according to the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER).

Bohol was able to administer 129,691 jabs or 46.51% of the target set by the NVOC. The Province of Siquijor came in second garnering 43.27%. The Provinces of Cebu and Negros Oriental came third and fourth with 36.1% and 23.6% respectively.

Gov. Arthur Yap thanked the local government units (LGU), volunteers, partners and medical community for the successful conduct of the 3-day NVD.

He said, “Mapasalamaton kita sa tanang mga mayors, [municipal health officers] MHOs, medical cluster members ug sa tanang mga pribado ug pampublikong ospital, ahensiya ug buhatan nga mibulig ug mitabang aron nga magmalampuson ang atong tulo ka adlaw nga Bayanihan, Bakunahan Vaccination drive.”

With this, Bohol has now has 521, 155 partially vaccinated individuals and 344, 563 persons who have been fully vaccinated.

Moreover, Yap revealed, “36% sa atong target nga 961, 872 ang fully vaccinated, samtang 54 % ang partially vaccinated.”

HERRERA: THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF?

Recently, comebacking politician, former Vice Gov. Julius Herrera was heard over a radio station, alleging that Capitol officials and mayors are allegedly involved in the illegal numbers game known as swertres.

If Herrera has information leading to the belief that indeed capitol officials and mayors are involved in illegal activities, he should name the officials now. Or else, he will be tagged as the boy who cried wolf, the PRIMER report says.

According to Herrera, this must be the case because from the records of the Peace and Order Council, there are no specific discussions regarding the illegal numbers games which Herrera is now alleging involves Capitol officials and mayors, the PRIMER report mentions.

Being a former three-termer vice governor, is Herrera not aware that the Philippine National Police (PNP) regularly reports on index and non-index crimes which includes the tracking and prosecution of those involved in the illegal numbers games?, the PRIMER asks in its report.

Just because illegal drugs is the focus of the Duterte administration does not mean that the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) has forgotten all about the illegal numbers games, the PRIMER, in its report pointed out.

Recently, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Royina Garma was in Bohol and in the report to the governor and vice governor, she clearly stated that national officials had no complaints about the support of the people of Bohol to the PCSO. In fact Garma said that PCSO‘s revenues in Bohol were high compared to other provinces of the same size, which can only mean that there are no significant illegal number problems in Bohol, the PRIMER said.

The Bohol Tribune reached to Kevin Damalerio, an Executive Assistant of Yap for his comments on this issue. He said, “Since when did Julius Herrera suddenly become an expert on this issue? If he knows anything he must reveal it now.”

Damalerio added, “If he can’t prove his allegations then maybe this is just part of his political grandstanding. I can smell frustrations in his assertions due to not being able to substitute as a candidate which led for him to substitute and run as mayor of Calape instead.”

He quipped, “As long as Herrera can’t present proof on his allegations, he should just shut up and focus on his mayoralty run. I know he is trailing behind his opponent. I don’t have much to say kay we cannot eat ‘rotten fruit’.”

“The more important question is what did he do about illegal numbers games when he was mayor of Calape or when he led the Bohol SP [Sangguniang Panlalawigan] when he was vice governor of the province?”, Damalerio asked.

Damalerio revealed, “The people of Bohol know better about his performance because he was soundly defeated when he ran as provincial governor in 2010 and in 2013, resoundingly defeated once again as mayor of Calape.”
