Gov. Arthur Yap sees great opportunity to draw more tourists to Bohol via fishing tournaments.

The governor said this as he attended the first Bohol Anglers Fishing Tournament on Dec. 8, 2021.

The governor congratulated Bohol Anglers as tournaments can help attract more tourists to come here in the province and participate in fishing competitions.

The governor is thankful to persons and groups who are helping the provincial government which is looking to gradually fully re-open the local tourism industry.

The provincial government is exerting efforts to prepare for the fully resumption of tourism activities here as around 70% of the province’s economy is based on tourism sector, the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) office said in its report on Dec. 9, 2021.

Earlier, the governor has floated the idea of promoting the traditional salt making industry in Albur town as part of the tourism circuit in the province to be offered to tourists as part of the effort to bolster the tourism industry which has been severely impacted by the pandemic.
