Bohol has been placed under signal no. 3 as typhoon Odette is moving towards the central part of the Philippines, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA).

The storm is expected to bring destructive winds in Bohol by evening of Dec. 16, 2021, the PAGASA added.

There is also a risk of storm surges up to a height of 3 meters and may have an impact in low-lying coastal areas in Central Visayas including Bohol.

Rough sea waters are expected as the typhoon passes by. As this developed, the Philippine Coast Guard already issued a notice to mariners saying all sea trips are cancelled until further announcement.

According to PAGASA, Odette is expected to be at the coastal waters of Clarin around 8 pm on Dec. 16, 2021.

The typhoon is expected to reach a peak intensity of 155 to 165 kilometers per hour, the PAGASA said.

Earlier, Gov. Arthur Yap has issued an executive order suspending classes and work in both public and private sectors in the province for 2 days to allow Boholanos to be with their families.
