Globe Telecoms has restored its services after its network was severely affected by typhoon Odette.
Globe Telecom subscribers in Bohol lost connection from the cellular network in the evening of Dec. 16, 2021, at the height of the typhoon’s wrath.
The said telecom’s network connection was restored almost 48 hours from the time the connection got cut off.
Globe Telecom chief executive officer (CEO) Ernest Cu assured, in a Facebook post, that the company has been working hard to restore services to the Boholano subscribers as soon as possible.
“We are working round-the-clock to fully restore our services in areas affected by [typhoon] Odette. We’ve experienced fiber cuts due to heavy winds and rains affecting our services, but our restoration efforts are non stop to keep our communication lines open,” he said.
Communication lines were hard to come by in the aftermath of typhoon Odette.
Boholanos were unable to communicate with each other as the Globe’s services were unavailable.
Globe Telecoms competitors, Smart Communication and PLDT, were able to continue to provide its services but the connection was intermittent and limited, separate reports to The Bohol Tribune say.
