GUGMA TAGBILARAN DELIVERS WATER. Together with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), Gugma Tagbilaran is assisting the City Government in providing water to its constituents. Around 7 private trucks carrying a total of 28,000 liters of water are going around Tagbilaran City’s 15 barangays to deliver water. Gugma Tagbilaran also placed a water tank in each barangay for the residents. To date, 15 generator sets were provided by the City Government to the Tagbilaran City Waterworks to provide electricity to the pumping stations. Tagb youths score wins in nat’l karate tilt

The fighting spirit of the Tagbilaranons cannot be curbed by the pandemic. Despite the strict health protocol imposed upon various sports competitions, the members of the Tagbilaran City Karatedo Team Sphinx Shotokan Karatedo International Japan Karate Shoto (SSKI-JKS)  did not lose their winning attitude. Young martial arts enthusiasts from Tagbilaran City emerged victorious in the 17th Philippines Karatedo Traditional and Sports (PKTS) Karatedo Championship 2021 held on Dec. 5, 2021. The competition was participated in by 20 other karatedo teams from all over the Philippines, including one contingent from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
SSKI-JKS won the most number of medals with 23 golds, 17 silvers, and 13 bronzes. The Tagbilaran contingent was composed of young and energetic athletes led by Stiffany Mae Alvarez, Dale Malcolm Edillo, Leanne Marie Alvarez, Vivencio Pusta, Sofia Faith Curayag, Matt Japheth Estrera, Samantha Limpo, Jerick James Suma-oy, Jensine Limpo, Zackarie Señoron, Jaryl Jesh Suma-oy,  Mark Vincent Lucero, Zionie Pearl Monique Pactol, John Paul Cabalit, Grazel Mae Lamoste, Zedrix Ramirez, Wyna Grace Curayag, Jhudiel Joie Batucan, Andrea Rose Abuyabor, Ronald Galleto, Apple Melyn Eve Alipaopao, Maurice Mendoza Jr, Floraine Marie Rebosura, Romeo Martorillas Jr, Kate Ashley Revilles, Alliel Hontalba, Hana Joy Rondena, Rasheil Baay, and Liezl Joyce Monton.
Other members of the team are Cesar Lucero, Cristy Marize Pusta, Czar Ezekiel Dosdos, Nicole Nayre, Euvie Mia Mendoza, Eveline Van der Hoek, and Justie Athena Jaspe.
City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II congratulated the feat of the athletes and acknowledged the pride which the team gave to Tagbilaran City.
“The victories they have achieved during this health crisis are truly commendable. It goes to show that no obstacles can stop their aspiration to harness their craft. More than the competition, it is their optimism and positivity that makes us proud. These athletic events are important for it is a venue where the youth could develop sportsmanship, integrity, endurance, and honesty”, Mayor Yap said.
