LGU Ubay mulls relocating residents away from hazardous areas

A report has surfaced that the local government unit (LGU) of Ubay is mulling the possibility of relocating the residents away from hazardous areas following the devastation caused by typhoon Odette.
According to reports, Ubay mayor Costan Reyes is considering the idea of relocating residents living near coastal areas.
The idea to relocate residents came about as the coastal barangays of Fatima, Son-oc and Tapon were among the areas severely affected by the wrath of the typhoon.
These areas, according to the report, are also near the public market.

The mayor is strongly looking at the idea of relocating the residents away from vulnerable areas to prevent casualties should another disaster like a strong typhoon would happen. 
The relocation plan shall be considered once the situation in the town stabilizes following the typhoon, reports bare.
Currently, relief operations for those affected by the typhoon are underway. Ubay is among the most severely impacted areas in the province together with several areas in the second district.
