Mayor Duallo appeals to DSWD, NGAs for cash aid for typhoon victims

Mayor Dave D. Duallo

Buenavista mayor Dave Duallo appealed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and other national government agencies (NGA) for cash aid to be given to the families affected by typhoon Odette.
“I received several complaints from my constituents that they have been disqualified from the said aid as they reportedly are working in the government, gainfully employed or having a sustainable business,” the mayor said in a Facebook post on Jan. 4, 2022.
The mayor explained that some residents of the town lost their livelihood, properties and even loved ones as a result of the onslaught of the typhoon.
“In line with this, I would like to reiterate what President Rodrigo Duterte said in his press release last December 29, 2021. He mentioned that the government has SUFFICIENT FUNDS to provide an amount of P5,000 in cash aid for each family affected by typhoon Odette,” Duallo mentioned in his appeal.
The NGAs are tasked to provided the said financial aid regardless of social standing, the mayor explained.
“My people are in dire need of help and assistance as the resources here continue to be scarce or unattainable,” the mayor said.
Duallo said that he appeals to relevant agencies to start distributing the cash aid to help alleviate the plight of affected Buenavista town residents.
“In this regard, I am requesting the higher-ups to give everyone this financial help and services,” Duallo concluded.
