Vice Governor Rene Relampagos acknowledged the looming threat of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus disease (Covid) and urged people to remain vigilant and protect themselves.
Relampagos shared this caution through his message to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) officers in a forum on Jan. 6, 2022, at the Provincial Capitol’s Ceremonial Hall.
The vice governor reminded the people from the DILG that as the province deals with the devastating effecte of typhoon Odette, there is still another challenge that threatens the Boholanos which is the pandemic.
“Right now, there is a greater challenge na naa sa unahan. Because of the Omicron variant, ga sige na pod og saka ang cases.” said Relampagos.
The vice governor also said that the current priority of the provincial government is the rehabilitation of Bohol which has been affected by the typhoon.
“Here in Bohol, malipayon ta in the sense na at least naa ta sa os-os na number of cases sa COVID. Hopefully, it will remain like that. Kay dili lalim na ga-atubang ta aning mga problema na gidala ni Odette,” he said.
At the end of his speech, Relampagos urged the Boholanos to continue helping each other and remain steadfast and united amidst trials.
“Nasayod ko na og magtinabangay ta ug mag-usa ta sa pagtinabangay, mas mapadali nato ang pag-rebuild sa atong probinsya,” said the vice governor.
