The 47th Infantry Battalion (IB), with the leadership of Lt. Col. Allyson Depayso, is now conducting a massive relief effort after typhoon Odette devastated the island of Bohol on Dec. 16, 2021.
From Dec. 17, 2021, up to the present, the Katapatan Troopers, Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and civilian volunteers have been providing assistance for the packing, loading and unloading of relief goods and supplies.
Moreover, in response to typhoon Odette, the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard vessels were used in sending relief supplies to the island barangays.
Furthermore, the Philippine Air Force is helping in the transport of Family Food Packs (FFP) and bottled waters from Cebu to Bohol.
On January 7, 2022, Family Food Packs (FFP) were distributed to various municipalities in Bohol namely: Sevilla, Batuan, Bilar, Catigibian, Sagbayan, and Balilihan.
“Even throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays, our soldiers in Bohol continue to serve and support the victims of Typhoon Odette. Giving support and hope to fellow Filipinos is the genuine essence of the holiday season. And until the province of Bohol rises again, we will continue to do our best to provide humanitarian help to the best of our ability,” Depayso said.
