The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Bohol led by Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos approved on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, a supplemental budget that will fund various priority initiatives of the Provincial Government of Bohol, especially addressing the needs of typhoon victims.
The said supplemental budget was thoroughly discussed during a pre-session held by SP members and Relampagos with the presence of various resource persons before it was approved in the plenary session.
According to Provincial Budget Officer Peter Retutal, the supplemental budget in the amount of P110,916,070.00, covers funds for provision of rice assistance to affected families of typhoon Odette, food assistance through the HEART Caravan, and payment of financial expenses in relation to the released proceeds of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) loan for hospital modernization, road heavy equipment, and agri-machinery acquisition. The budget will also cover the payment of taxes in relation to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax assessment on withholding taxes.
According to the Governor’s Office, the provision of rice assistance will benefit a total of 422,624 families all throughout the province.
Each family will get five kilos of rice from the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).
