The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) tagged Bohol as the 20th most competitive province in the country. This means that Bohol is at the top 20 of competitive areas out of 81 provinces in the entire Philippines.
The DTI revealed the ranking of Bohol during the 9th Regional Competitive Summit held virtually on Dec. 14, 2021
On the other hand, Bohol emerged as the top competitive province in Central Visayas. Bohol maintained its ranking from 2020 while the placing of other areas in the region declined.
The ranking was based on the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI), which uses four pillars which are economic dynamism, infrastructure, government efficiency and resilience.
