Chairman Cylwin Bomediano

Bol-anon Bantay Presyo has been chosen as the consumer representative that will sit as one of the members of the Provincial Price Monitoring Council (PPMC).

Gov. Arthur Yap issued a memorandum on Jan. 19, 2022 designating the group as the consumer group representative in the PPCC.

The Bol-anon Bantay Presyo is a group of private individuals dedicated to help in the monitoring of prices and headed by its chairman Cylwin Bomediano.

According to Bomediano, the group’s representative is expected to attend the PPCC meeting on Jan. 20, 2022 at the Bellevue Hotel.

In a telephone interview, Bomediano said the group and the governor met on Jan. 19, 2022 to talk about the surging prices of some commodities being sold especially in the towns of Bohol.

Bomediano added the governor was elated that a group has been formed to help in the monitoring of prices.

The chairman of Bol-anon Bantay Presyo bared that the governor was shocked to learn about the prevailing prices of some commodities being sold in some towns in the province.

Bomediano revealed that his group has the network of persons who will be monitoring prices and gather evidence so that it can be probed by law enforcers.

He added that the group has a legal team ready to prosecute violators of the price law.

There is a price freeze imposed in Bohol as the province is under a state of calamity.
