Army’s 3ID delivers truckloads of goods for typhoon effected areas in CV

The Philippine Army has sent 14 truckloads of relief goods it sourced out from corporate and individuals donors, for the typhoon victims in Central Visayas (CV).
In a statement 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) Spearhead Division of the Philippine Army based in Camp Macario Peralta in  Jamindan, Capiz loaded these relief goods through Philippine Navy’s BRP Tarlac en route to Central Visayas.
The shipment which consisted of bottled water, food items, canned goods, foams, mattresses, portable water purifier packs, electric generator and other essential supplies were packed and distributed immediately to affected areas in Central Visayas.
Task Group Cebu of 302nd Infantry Brigade, 3ID tasked 14th Civil Military Operation Battalion, 9th Marine Battalion Landing Team and 82nd Infantry Battalions were the ones tasked to receive and distribute the goods, according to Captain Kim Apitong, 3IDs Public Affairs Chief.
The Army was able to collect donations worth P12 million.

All of these consolidated donations will be distributed to areas severely affected by Typhoon Odette, like in Bohol and Negros Islands.
In his statement, Major General Benedict Arevalo, the commander of 3ID said: “This is the genuine acts of what we call bayanihan. We are truly grateful to all the donations made by Landers Superstore and other companies and private individuals to areas that were devastated by the recent calamity”.
“Rest assured that all of these donations will be promptly delivered to areas severely affected by typhoon”, Arevalo added.
Army units—together with national government agencies, local government units and private sector partners—are working ‘round the clock to provide relief and rehabilitation assistance to areas devastated by Ty Odette. (PIA)
