Tagbilaran City First Lady Jane Yap thanked former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano’s “Sari-saring Pag-asa” program providing financial assistance to sari-sari store owners.
Around 20 small sari-sari store owners in Tagbilaran City who were affected by typhoon Odette received P3,500 each as financial assistance.
It is hoped that this financial assistance would help them overcome the typhoon’s damaging effects to their business.
“Sari-saring Pag-asa” is a take-off from the Taguig-Pateros (TaPat) Sari-Store Program created by Taguig 2nd District Rep. Lani Cayetano where she provides financial assistance and livelihood training for sari-sari store owners in Taguig and Pateros.
Through the program, sari-sari store owners receive P3,500 each.
It is a national program that seeks to create a community of sharing and mutual aid among sari-sari store owners from different parts of the country.
The Sari-Sari Store Community program had already helped more than 2,000 sari-sari store owners from Baguio City, Dagupan City, Olongapo City, the towns of Guiguinto of Calumpit in Bulacan, and Caloocan City and other parts of the country.

Another brand-new vehicle was turned over to the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) on Jan. 24, 2022, from the national government, according to a report by the City Media Bureau.
Just last week, City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II together with City General Services Office (GSO) Head Dr. Chris John Rener Torralba turned over two (2) brand new pick-up vehicles, battering ram, and ballistic shield to the TCPS as represented by Lt. Col. Mary Crystal Peralta.
Peralta said the new vehicles will be used for various tasks aimed at ensuring Tagbilaran City’s peace and order.
Mayor Yap is grateful to the workers in the frontlines, one of which are the TCPS personnel.
“We want to ease the work of our frontliners as much as we can. These new vehicles will at least help the unit in its daily tasks. The City PNP has been one of the major frontliners in our fight against COVID [Coronavirus disease]. From inspection in the major entry and exit points during lockdowns and the implementation of the curfew hours. Our police personnel are always ready to extend a helping hand”, Yap said.
