SP okays LIPH, AOP

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol on Jan. 25, 2022 during its Regular Session, led by Vice Gov. Rene Lopez Relampagos, granted authority to Gov. Arthur Yap to sign the terms of partnership between the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) and the Department of Health – Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) regarding the implementation of the 2020-2022 Local Investment Plan for Health (LIPH) and the 2022 Annual Operation Plan (AOP) of the Province of Bohol, as a vital part of the Universal Health Care Program.
Accordingly, the LIPH is the key instrument, which seeks a partnership among local government units and the DOH to carry out the Fourmula One Plus for Health.
The agreement also enables the PGBh to get technical assistance from the DOH as outlined in the LIPH. The LIPH’s implementation is coursed through the AO
As stressed by Provincial Health Office OIC Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez during the pre-session conference,  Section 22 of Republic Act 11223 or otherwise known as the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act of 2019, mandated the national government to provide financial and non-financial grants including capital outlay, human resources for health and health commodities, to greatly improve the functionality of province-wide health systems, provided that the grants shall be in accordance with the approved province-wide health investment plans.

In addition, Relampagos has conveyed the importance of fully supporting the various health programs of the PGBh.
