The Department of Trade and Industry-Bohol (DTI) led by Provincial Director Maria Soledad Balistoy distributed Negosyo Kits to another batch of 80 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) located in three municipalitiesin the province of Bohol severely affected by Typhoon Odette namely: Ubay, Getafe, and Loboc.
The distribution of these Negosyo Kits is under the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) where each MSME receives P8,000 worth of livelihood assistance in the form of cash vouchers.
The vouchers will be used by the MSMEs to purchase necessaryitems for their businesses in DTI-partnered establishments.
The LSP-NSB was conducted in partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs) of the said municipalities and beneficiaries ere profiled by DTI Negosyo Center Business Counsellors before the distribution of the livelihood assistance.
Beneficiaries for this batch include fish vendors, fishing boat owners, tricycle drivers, carinderia owners, market vendors, and sari-sari store owners.
This is the first batch of livelihood assistance distributed for 2022 and DTI-Bohol through its Negosyo Centers is currently doing the profiling of beneficiaries for the next batch which they target to distribute not later than March 2022.
In December 2021, DTI-Bohol also distributed Negosyo Kits via LandBank cash cards to 150 MSMEs in the municipalities of Ubay, Bien Unido, Talibon, Trinidad, San Miguel and President Carlos P. Garcia.
This effort of the department supports one of the main objectives of the program which is to assist microenterprises to grow their businesses through the conduct of entrepreneurship and disaster resilience activities in the identified barangays, including the provision of business kits.
