First District Board Member (BM) Ricky Masamayor and the Executive Assistant (EA) to Gov. Arthur Yap Kevin Damalerio belied the allegation of 3 Loon baranvay captains who said there was an order to wait for Gov. Arthur Yap to arrive before distributing the relief goods from the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh).
Both Masamayor and Damalerio denied that there was an order coming from the Capitol to delay the distribution of the relief goods to Loon residents until the governor arrives in the town.
Masamayor was interviewed over Open Forum on Feb. 1, 2022 hosted by Dave Albarado while Damalerio was interviewed in the same radio program by Gloria Leodivica Araneta, a day earlier.
Masamayor said in the interview that he was the one who accompanied some barangay and municipal officials of Loon in the distribution of relief goods from the PGBh.
Wala ko kadunggog nga huwaton ang atong gobernador, ug di ipa distribute [until the governor arrives],” Masamayor quipped.
The board member, during the interview, hinted that these persons-the barangay captains – are running for seats in Loon’s Sangguniang Bayan (SB).
They are aligned with the group in opposition with the slate backed by Pundok Padayon Bol-anon.
Pundok Padayon Bol-anon is the local coalition of political parties headed by Yap, Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos and Cong. Edgar Chatto. In Loon, Pundok Padayon Bol-anon’s standard bearer is incumbent Mayor Elvi Relampagos.
The 3 barangay captains, Wilo of Moto Norte, Jeannette Vidal of Napo and Edwin Ladusa of Ubujan, are running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), based on the digital copy of the ballot released by the Commission on Election on its website.
The NPC in Bohol is headed by Aumentado, according to Damalerio.
DAMALERIO’S SIDE
For his part, Damalerio, sees politics as the motivation behind the supposed exposè of 3 Loon barangay captains against the Capitol.
Reports say that the said barangay captains allegedly defied the supposed order and proceeded with the distribution of the relief goods coming from PGBh.
Damalerio said that it was never revealed by the aforementioned barangay captains asvto who was the one supposedly from the Capitol who told them – the barangay captains – to delay the distribution. He then asked the identity of the supposed person from the Capitol who gave instructions to delay the distribution of relief goods.
The executive assistant to Gov. Yap said that he never heard the governor giving instructions to wait for the latter before distributing relief goods.
“Klaruhon nato ma’am Gloria no na si Gov. Arthur Yap, ang gusto lang niya is maabot sa labing daling panahon ang tanang hinabang ngadto sa katawhan,” Damalerio said.
He added that there have been relief good distributions in other towns that pushed through even without the presence of the governor.
Moreover, Damalerio also questioned the objective of the 3 barangay captains for saying that there was someone who told them to delay the distribution of relief goods.
Damalerio said that the 3 barangay captains’ exposè may be part of political maneuvers.
“Akong makit-an ma’am Gloria [nga] mura ug part ni siya sa ilang political attacks sa local nga kandidato tungod kay kaning 3 nga kapitan nidagan man pod ning konsehal sa linya didto sa atbang, kaatbang ni Mayor Elvi Relampagos,” Damalerio added.
