Infra projs. in Tagb continue despite the pandemic

The City Engineering Office (CEO) accomplished infrastructure projects in 2021 amidst the health crisis. City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II issued marching orders to complete, the infrastructure project targets laid out last year.

For flood control, the drainage along Ligason Street is already completed, together with the road concreting in Dagohoy Circumferential Road, Espuelas Street, Isabo Street, G. Visarra Street, and Upper Salazar Street.

The CEO is able to complete the rehabilitation of the Cogon Public Market. The CEO has completed the construction of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department’s Command Center and finished the landscaping of Tagbilaran City Hall.

The CEO also was able to finish the construction of a pavement near the City Health Office’s waiting area. It is also involved in the closure and rehabilitation of the Dampas dumpsite, phase 2.

Other infrastructure projects completed by the CEO are the repainting of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, construction of the comfort rooms in the Paglaum center, the construction of the Health Center in barangay Poblacion I, renovation at done at the Integrated Bus Terminal, completion of the construction of the Tiptip Birthing Facility, and refurbishing of the Tagbilaran City Public Market.

The construction of the Green Park in the Dampas Market Compound is now on-going, according to the City Media Bureau.

The programs and projects in the City Government of Tagbilaran pushed through despite the threat of Coronavirus disease (Covid).

Mayor Yap said it is important to look ahead and get past the difficulties posed by the pandemic.

“We are looking forward to the day when this health crisis will be over. But for the meantime, we will not let it hamper our plans. We will continue to pursue our priorities. All these projects will ultimately redound to improve the well-being of our constituents”, Yap said.
