The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) that hit Bohol recently brought heavyrainfall across the province.
The coastal towns of Garcia Hernandez and Jagna were two of the towns that bore the bulk of the heavy rainfall as several low-lying parts of the town were flooded leaving dozens of families badly-affected in its wake.
The Philippine Gift of Life (PGL) Foundation responded immediately to the call for help as it dispatched a response team from its office that brought relief goods and food packs to the right and flood-stricken families in Garcia Hernandez and Jagna on January 28, 2022.
The response teams included the foundation’s vice- president Fr. Victor Bompat, PGL Director Dr. Mary Ann Ruiz, and PGL Consultant Dr. Kazan Baluyot assisted by a team from the Rotary Club of Tagbilaran District 3860 led by Engr. Victor Bantol, Louella Bantol among other volunteer Rotarians and the Des Strong Motors, Inc. thru Dr. Tom Joshua Lumapas who provided the primary vehicle that transported the relief supplies supported by the Local Government Units (LGU).
The said quick-action relief delegation distributed some rice, canned goods, noodles, towel, bottled water, chocolates for the children and tarpaulin for shelter to the flood victim families in Garcia Hernandez and Jagna who were very much appreciative and thankful for the fast-acting humanitarian relief operation as advised by PGL President/CEO Fancy Baluyot who received said commendation from the LGUs.
