4 persons get arrested for transporting coco lumber without permit

Four men were reportedly arrested for allegedly transporting coconut lumber without a permit in barangay Poblacion, Lila town on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, reports say.
Reports identified the suspects as Mario Rara, 51, Creve Rara, 32, Wilson Candano, 39 and Alexis Cagalitan, 19, all residents of Valencia town. 
They were caught during the conduct of a Commission on Elections (Comelec) checkpoint in the said barangay at around 2pm.
The police reportedly asked the group for a copy of the permit to transport, but the group was unable to present any. 

The suspects are about to face charges of violating Republic Act 10593 or the Coconut Preservation Act.
