Aside from helping the marginalized women in the city, the Tagbilaran City  Livelihood and Community Development Unit (TCLCDU) has an on-going program to educate, train, and capacitate community-based associations in all the city’s 15 barangays.
Currently, the TCLCDU is conducting Financial Management Seminar to the members of the Taloto Women’s Association.
The seminar aims to teach women how to accurately and completely record financial transactions.
TCLCDU Head Adelfa Salutan served as the resource speaker of the said seminar.
Salutan talked about basic accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, financial literacy, and other transactions needed in running a business. The Women’s Association in Brgy. Poblacion II was also given the same financial management seminar and values orientation last year.
In a related development, it was learned that TCLCDU provided dressmaking and tailoring training to its 2nd batch of trainees under the livelihood program of the City Government of Tagbilaran.
Salutan said the 1st batch of trainees is already set to operate the manufacturing hub that is currently underway. The 2nd batch of trainees is still getting some technical skills training under the guidance of tutors from Bohol Island State University led by Jo-ann Ingking, Amethyst Lloren, and Nicole Louisse Faustor.
Salutan shared that aside from the technical skills trainings, the participants are also going to be enrolled in a social skills course. The course will have subjects on Values Formation, Responsible Parenting, Reproductive Health, Gender Sensitivity and Development, and Financial Literacy and Management. Mentors from partner institution, University of Bohol, are conducting the course on social skills.

The technical skills training, on one hand, is handled by institutional partners, Bohol Island State University (BISU) and Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).
