DFA to conduct mobile passporting services in Tagb

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in partnership with the City Government of Tagbilaran, through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), will conduct a mobile passporting service on April 5 to 7, 2022 from 8 am to 4 pm at the City Hall Atrium.

The City Government of Tagbilaran has always pushed for continuous streamlining and improvement of the delivery frontline services, with the end goal of providing quality, timely and relevant public service to Tagbilaranons.

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II personally thanked Foreign Affairs ASec. Frank Cimafranca, who is also a Boholano, for facilitating the aforementioned program that will make passport application/renewal easier.

“The pandemic has gravely affected our mobility. This passport service is crucial. Aside from being safe, our constituents will be able to save money needed for travel, transportation, and meals. Also, this service is convenient and is beneficial to our OFWs [overseas Filipino workers] who are renewing their passport or to those who are applying for jobs abroad and for professionals who do not have the time to go to Cebu or Manila. In other words, we have brought quality service with greater ease and convenience to our people.”

Passport applicants need to comply with the requirements, which include having an active email address, the City Media Bureau report bares.

Applicants are also required to present the needed documents on Feb. 10, 2022 for the registration.

Incomplete and inaccurate documentary requirements submitted during the actual passporting schedule will result in the application getting declined and the processing fee forfeited.

Applicants with lost or mutilated passports will not be accommodated and walk-in applicants will not be entertained, the City Media Bureau in its report says.

Mayor Yap is looking forward for more mobile passport services in the future and is committed to provide the needed logistical requirements for other DFA programs.
