Around 20 beneficiaries from the towns of Alicia and Danao are set to receive livelihood assistance grants (LSG) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-7, according to a report released by the agency on Feb. 16, 2022.

The grants, which are released under the Balik Probinsya, Balik Pag-asa (BP2) project of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the DSWD, are set to be released to the beneficiaries from the said towns, the report adds.

The BP2 is a socio economic program by the national government to reverse the migration of people to urban centers, like Metro Manila, according to the said national agency.

The DSWD, under the SLP, is releasing a total of one million pesos (P1,000,000) to 20 beneficiaries in Bohol.

However, the DSWD did not mention when the grant distribution will take place.

The DSWD said that 16 out of 20 beneficiaries are from Dimiao, while the remaining 4 benefit recipients are from Alicia town.

Each beneficiary will receive P 50,000 as livelihood assistance as he/she will settle back to Bohol, the DSWD said in the report.

Meanwhile, the DSWD-7 mentioned that the agency has released a total of 416.7 million pesos worth of relief assistance consisting of 697,779 family food packs (FFPS) to the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, and Negros Oriental.

The relief assistance is for the victims of typhoon Odette located at the 3 affected provinces in Central Visayas, the DSWD said.
