Bohol to receive PTVs from PCSO

Three (3) units of Patient Transport Vehicles (PTV) are set to be received by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) following the approval by Vice Gov. Rene Lopez Relampagos and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of three resolutions that gave authority to Gov. Arthur C. Yap to sign the Deed of Donation with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The PCSO is donating 3 PTVs for the 3 hospitals owned by the PGBh, according to reports.
Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, OIC of the Provincial Health Office said that Bohol is one of the qualified beneficiaries of the PCSO PTV Donation Program. The program aims to ensure  the availability of medical facilities for emergency services, healthcare programs and social services to uplift the healthcare conditions in the country.
The PTV shall be exclusively used for transport of a patient whose condition is non-life-threatening nature. The PTV is a way to provide a patient safe and comfortable transportation. The PTV can be also used in the conduct of medical outreach programs.
The Garcia Memorial Hospital in Talibon, Cong. Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, and Catigbian District Hospital each get a PTV, according to reports.
For his part Relampagos said: “With this initiative, we are aiming to minimize the delays in patient transfer from one facility to another, therefore giving the patients coming to our care the immediate health interventions they need.”
The vice governor said the PTVs will help strengthen the PGBh’s efforts to enhance its healthcare system, as well as in managing current and future public health concerns.
