Roof rehabilitation of the City Central Market starts

Aside from being busy in the road concreting projects and building facilities and structures, the City Engineering Office (CEO) is also doing its best in the upgrading of facilities. 
An example of this project that has just been started is the roof rehabilitation of the City Central Market.
According to the report of the City Media Bureau received by the Bohol Tribune on Feb. 18, 2022, the rehabilitation work began last week.
It was bared by the same news outlet that the CEO has also completed the repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance of asphalt roads, gravel roads, drainage, and vegetation control throughout the city. 
The street lights and artesian wells were also taken as part of the program of works undertaken by the CEO. 
In 2021, major infrastructure projects were completed by the said agency of the City Government of Tagbilaran, such as the storm drainage project along Ligason Street. 
Major road concreting was also completed along the Dagohoy Circumferential Road, Espuelas Street, Isabo Street, G. Visarra Street, and Upper Salazar Street. 
The CEO has also completed the following projects: the rehabilitation of the Cogon Public Market, the construction of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management department’s  command center, the landscaping of Tagbilaran City Hall, the cement pavement in the City Health Office waiting area, closure and rehabilitation of the Dampas Dumpsite Phase II, repainting of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the construction of the comfort rooms in the Paglaum center.
More projects completed by the CEO include the following: the construction of the Health Center in Brgy. Poblacion I; the renovation of the Integrated Bus Terminal and the Tiptip Birthing Facility; and the renovation of the Tagbilaran City Public Market.
Moreover, the Green Park located at the Dampas Market is now under construction, the City Media Bureau said in its report.
City Engineer Teodoro Estoque said that this year, major projects are also lined up for completion.

Tagb provides tuition fee subsidy to more than 200 students

The City Government of Tagbilaran has been consistent in its commitment to provide tuition fee subsidy to poor but deserving students since 2014.
Before the assumption of City Mayor John Geesnell Yap into office, the number of Tagbilaran City Scholars were only 60.
Now, after 8 years as mayor of the city, Tagbilaran City College (TCC) is already established, providing full scholarships to more than a thousand students.
Aside from the scholars in the TCC, the City Government also provides tuition fee subsidies to students enrolled in other colleges and universities in Tagbilaran. 
The tuition fee subsidy is P10,000 per scholar.

Those students who are interested to receive the tuition fee subsidies have to submit the complete requirements to the Barangay Affairs Constituency Unit Office (BACU) which includes. 
These requirements are: 2×2 pictures, application letter addressed  to the Mayor, Personal Data Sheet, Certificate of Good Moral Character from the Barangay, endorsement letter from the barangay coordinator, barangay certification of low income or indigency, photocopy of police clearance, medical certificate, photocopy of certificate of enrolment, certification from his/her school that the applicant is not a recipient of any scholarship grant, report card for freshman applicants, and photocopy of the statement of accounts.
Application for scholarships started on Feb. 11, 2022 and will end up on Feb. 24, 2022.
BACU Head Alvin Acuzar said that the processing of the documents of applicants for the subsidy  is already going on. Interested students are welcome to visit the BACU office for inquiries and more details.
