PDEA nabs drug suspect, seizes P33K worth of suspected shabu

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that it arrested a drug suspect following a drug buy-bust operation on Feb. 11, 2022 and seized P33,000 worth of suspected shabu, according to a report released by the agency on Feb. 14, 2022.

The PDEA identified the drug suspect as a certain Ronald D. Lopena, 28, jobless, a resident of barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City.

The PDEA conducted a buy-bust operation together with personnel from Maritime Police, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-7, and Tagbilaran City Police Station on Friday, at Purok 6, barangay Ubujan, which led to the arrest of the said suspect.

Moreover, the suspect was listed in the regional drug watchlist and was reported to the PDEA’s reporting system called “Isumbong Mo Kay Wilkins:, according to the report.

The PDEA seized around 11 packs containing suspected shabu, weighing five grams with an estimated market value of P33,000.

The suspect will be facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehesive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA said in a report.
