Aris’ alleged mansion makes rounds on social media

Congressman Erico Aristotle Aumentado’s alleged mansion in Mariveles, Dauis became the topic on the social media chatter this week.

The Bohol Tribune published this issue in the past wherein a netizen, who claims to be a supporter of Aumentado, confirmed the rumor that the solon owns a big house in Dauis through the supporter’s post on Facebook.

In the Feb. 7, 2021 issue of The Bohol Tribune, Aumentado admitted that he was constructing a house but emphasized that it is not a mansion as some people call it.

He added that the house is funded through a bank loan and the construction of the said house has been delayed due to funding issues.

Aumentado in the article that saw print in 2021, also said that the design of the house makes it appear huge.

According to some reliable sources, the alleged mansion of Cong. Aumentado in Dauis is a multi-level structure with a basement, ground floor and second floor, with the floor area estimated to be around 1,500 square meters. The Bohol Tribune has yet to confirm this information.

There are some footage posted on social media showing the alleged Dauis residence of the 2nd district congressman.

A picture of a 6-wheeler truck allegedly parked at the solon’s residence loaded with relief goods was also posted in the Facebook Account of Aumentado.

This picture earned a “high-eyebrow-look” from some netizens as according to some comments, it showed how big his residence is.

A netizen even commented, “Sana all masulod ang dump truck. Amoa tawn, maski bicycle maglisod pa ug parking.”

Another one commented, “Dump Truck na gani na ha, pero luag pa gihapon ang area. Dakoa diay niya ug balay uy.”

How much will it cost to build a house today?

The Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) asked a Boholano architect who requested that his name be withheld, as to how much will it cost if one decides to build a house in Bohol.

According to the architect, for a simple concrete house, it will cost one around 18, 000 pesos per square meter. He stressed that this is just a simple concrete house.

However, the cost of materials went up after the typhoon. So probably, if a house is to be built today, one must add 20-25% to the total cost per square meter.

The architect further said, that if the roofing material and paint are factored in, it will easily be around P25, 000 per square meter.

The PRIMER asked the architect another question: “How about if the house is a multi-level storey? How much will it possibly cost a person to build such a house?”

The architect replied that the cost is a lot higher than usual.

He said, “Momahal kay ang structural mas modako man kay dapat man lig-onon na siya.”

In the architect’s estimate, the cost will be about P35, 000 per square meter.

He finally said, “Sa pagtukod lang na nga gasto. Wala pay labot ang furnitures and fixtures ana. Wala pay labot ana pud ang fence.”

The PRIMER threw to the architect another question: “Supposed the alleged mansion of Aumentado is around 1,500 square meters, and since it is a multi-level house as disclosed by a reliable source, how much does it cost?”

Aumentado has already answered the question where he got the funds for the building of the house, which is from a bank loan.

Moreover, the PRIMER is asking the solon if the said residence in Dauis is recorded in his (Aumentado’s) Statement of Asset, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).

The PRIMER said that the voters in the upcoming election need to know all these information.

The Bohol Tribune tried to reach the contact number of Aumentado for his latest comment on the issue but its calls were unreturned as of press time.
