VG Rene welcomes Austrian envoy here

Vice Gov. Rene Lopez Relampagos welcomed the Austrian ambassador to the Philippines, Bita Rasoulian, as the latter had a meeting with key officials at the Capitol on February 24, 2022, according to reports.

According to Relampagos, he was honored to meet the Austrian envoy. The vice governor engaged with the ambassador as he represented

the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).

Moreover, Relampagos had a chance to discuss possible projects and partnerships with the Austrian government that will benefit the Boholano people, the report adds.

Boholanos are still reeling from the effects of the impact of typhoon Odette and the pandemic, and any help is welcomed, Relampagos said.

Rasoulian began her diplomatic career at the age of 26, according to reports.

From her first assignment in 1995 at the Department for European Union Common Policies and Single Market, she rose through the ranks at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs, until she became the ambassador of Austria to the Republic of the Philippines and Palau in 2017.
