Gov. Arthur Yap expressed his utmost gratitude on Feb. 22, 2022 to the Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) group comprising the PLDT-Smart Foundation and TV-5 Alagang Kapatid, for extending help to the province by giving out food packs and water filters to those who were badly hit by typhoon Odette. This is according to reports from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) released on Feb. 23, 2022.
The MVP group was led by Esther Santos, who turned over 100 shelter kits composed of building materials, to those whose homes suffered extensive damage brought by the typhoon.
Yap also sincerely thanked the MVP group for its promise of support to the shelter rebuilding efforts of the province.
Earlier, a company under the MVP group, Meralco, sent linemen, engineers and other personnel to help Bohol’s local distribution utilities in restoring the damaged electrical lines, reports add.
Meanwhile, Yap delivered additional units of generator set to barangays Nagtuang and Bongco in Loon town on Feb. 21, 2022, a report from the PRIMER said.
Until now, the aforementioned areas still have no electricity. The said areas need the generator sets to provide power to their respective waterworks system.
