Women, mark your calendar as the City Government of Tagbilaran lined up various activities to celebrate Women’s Month.
The celebration of Women’s Month kicks off with a motorcade and program on Mar. 8, 2022, followed by a Holy Mass at the City Hall Atrium, a report from the City Media Bureau said.
City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II is spearheading the various activities designed to highlight women’s contributions to society and country.
“We know and value a woman’s strength. In fact, this year’s celebration leveraged on that core. We provided relevant trainings to enhance the enterprising abilities of the women. All of us have been a silent witness to the resilience of our women in managing the household, nurturing their children, and loving their husbands. Thus, this special day, we celebrate with women all around the world,” Yap said.
United States Agency for International Development-Communication for Health Advancement through Networking and Governance Enhancement (USAID-CHANGE) Project Coordinator Dr. Rosalinda Paredes is expected to share her insights along with City Councilor Dulce Glovasa in a talk during the opening salvo program.
The second part of Monday’s activity will feature an entrepreneurship training with John Liquit.
The training would be followed by the various break-out sessions in tocino meat processing, pan-fried bun making, and shakoy and doughnut making.
Moreover, the report adds that the finished products of the participants during the hands-on training will be showcased in a food product display booth.
Furthermore, there will also be a free ultrasound for women on Mar. 9 and 16, 2022 and followed by the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) orientation on Mar. 25, 2022.
Meanwhile, there will be a culmination activity featuring a Gender and Development Seminar for City Government employees on Mar. 30, 2022, the report concluded.
