Go sends aid to Carmen rice farmers

Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go sent aid to at least 5,700 rice farmers in Carmen town as the senator recognized the crucial role of agriculture in the country’s economic recovery, according to reports released on March 2, 2022.

The senator’s office, together with the Department of Agriculture (DA), distributed assistance to 5,720 farmers in Carmen, Bohol from Feb. 14 to 16, 2022, the same report adds.

Go’s staff members observed health protocol in providing meals and face masks to the rice farmers at barangay Poblacion Norte, Carmen’s covered court.

“I know that times are hard [because] we were in the middle of a crisis brought about by Covid-19,” Go said in a video message.

“We need to help one another, and be concerned for the welfare of our fellow Filipinos,” he added.

Moreover, Go the chairman of the Committee on Health in the Senate, urged the beneficiaries in Carmen town to continue in observing the health and safety protocol to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus disease (Covid).

He also encouraged those eligible, to get their vaccines and booster shots as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the senator also provided computer tablets as well as pairs of shoes and bicycles to chosen beneficiaries, the report bares.
