Wedding Celebration

Jasper Franco and Sean Dominique Marcelo celebrated their 4th year wedding anniversary on February 23, 2018.

Their wedding, 4 years ago, was one of the unplugged wedding ceremonies held in the province of Bohol. By unplugged wedding ceremony, it means that everyone present was asked to turn off his/her phone, ipad, camera and other digital distractions during the church rites or reception.

Let us have a throwback at what we wrote about their wedding ceremony, 4 years back.

“The church bells started to ring at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon of February 23, 2018 marking the start of the wedding ceremonies for Jasper Franco, the groom and Sean Dominique Marcelo, the bride. Held at Our Lady of the Assumption Shrine at Poblacion, Dauis, Bohol, the church rites had Fr. Desiderio “Kiking” Magdoza as celebrant and Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta of “SMILE” Philippines as commentator.

The groom. Jasper Franco is 30 years old and hails from Mandaluyong, Manila. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Gerardo Franco. He is presently the territory manager of Beyondtrust Software (Manila branch) whose main branch is in Phoenix, Arizona. The bride, Sean Dominique Marcelo (fondly called Sean) is 27 years old and comes from Makati City. She is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clark Marcelo. She is a systems analyst and IT developer who is connected with Carlson Wagonlit Travel, a German Company.

This is the Jasper — Sean love story. Both had their first meeting on September 27, 2007, when Jasper ran as PRO for the student government of his school, The Rizal Technological University in Manila. In one of his campaign sessions, he saw Sean who caught his attention because of the bangs across her forehead. He thought Sean was either a Korean or Chinese national. At that time, Jasper was in his 4th year in college while Sean was in her 1st year in the same school.

After some friendly conversations, he invited her to a movie date. After that date, he continued contacting her using the phone number he was able to get from her friends. He did not waste time: he started courting her and he got her sweet “yes” months after in 2007. Nine (9) years later, in 2016, to be exact, he articulated his intimate marriage proposal to her. He said Intimate” because only the immediate members of their families were involved. And the proposal was presented in Jasper’s home.

The success of the marriage proposal freely allowed both to use a word of endearment to address each other: Lovey!

And both started to be engrossed in the preparation of their marriage. They decided to hold it in Bohol, a place which they both love. Sean also decided to have a yellow bridal bouquet. Why? Well, in one of their dates as lovers, she asked for a sign to appear— a sign to support her in her choice of the man she would be with for the rest of her life. True enough, there came a yellow butterfly in the midst of their date.

“SMILE”, Philippines helped them in the planning and coordination of the wedding activities. The plan was to choose the best among the best and the following came out in the list:
• Mithi Resort & Spa – venue for the wedding preparation
• The Dream Islet of Mithi Resort – venue for the wedding reception
• Dennis Saco’s CIO Redefining Moments – official video & Photo coverage in-charge
• Donna Betos – make over artist

• Ramchie Doldolea – hair artist
• Motif – gray. white and grayish blue

• Blue Grass Project – the bouquet stylist
• Theme – Cool and Relax
• Chandymar A. Batoy of “SMILE”, Philippines – wedding reception master of ceremonies

It is worthy to note that as a destination wedding celebration, the event was attended by 106 guests who flew in to Bohol from Manila and other provinces.
The couple plans to go to Tonga of Australia and to Paris, his and her dream destination, respectively.”
