A top-ranking officer in the camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. relayed his negative experience while he was at the Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA).
Former congressman and presently member of the legal team of Marcos Jr., Glenn Chong bared his rant in a video post on Mar. 13, 2022, which was related to his experience at the airport.
Chong said that he and his 3 companions checked-in for their flight for Manila and allegedly experienced a negative experience with the way an airport security guard treated them, which has something to do with the baggage policy of the airline, which is Cebu Pacific.
He said that he has no problem with the policy of the airline but calls for uniformity in the implementation of policies to remove any avenue for corruption to happen.
He also chided the temperature inside the BPIA.
“I address this to the administration [of the airport] ang init po ng airport nyo,” Chong said.
He added that it is embarrassing that an international airport can only afford to provide an electric fan instead of turning the air conditioning on.
In a report, Angelo Ybañez, BPIA manager, said that the airport is using generator sets to provide power as Bohol Electric Cooperative 1 has yet to fully restore the electrical connection due to typhoon Odette.
The fuel supply for the generator sets is limited, thus the power consumption at the airport is being toned down, Ybanez explained.
Chong, a former solon from the lone disrtrict of Biliran, was in Bohol together with other BBM party stalwarts, Soc Abella, Ed Mendez and Nora Petines visited the local headquarters of the One Bohol BBMSARA Grand Alliance, according to alliance president Cylwin Bomediano.
Meanwhile, Marcos Jr.’s son Simon, is slated to arrive in Bohol this Mar. 24, 2022, according to Bomediano.
Around 1,000 participants are expected to attend the forum which will be attended by Marcos Jr.’s son.
Bomediano said that his group is still looking for a suitable venue which is able to accommodate the 1,000 participants.
He said Simon will engage with youth representatives from different towns of Bohol in a forum with a question-and-answer format.
