PLO denies assertions that People’s Mansion  houses “IT experts”; explains reasons for closure

Provincial Legal Officer Julius Delgado denied assertions that the People’s Mansion is being used to house “IT experts” or trolls.

This was the statement of Delgado in an interview at the Open Forum radio program hosted by Dave Albarado on Mar. 22, 2022.

Delgado, who is also a columnist of The Bohol Tribune, reacted to assertions regarding the “closure” of the People’s Mansion.

Delgado said that if there are IT experts or trolls being hosted at the People’s Mansion, the public would be able to detect the presence of such “experts” as they will leave the premises after their work is done.

For her part, Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto, who was also interviewed in the same program, said that if the provincial government employed IT experts or trolls, there is no need to host them in a single facility.

She explained that work being done by IT experts or trolls can be executed anywhere as long as there is an internet connection.

As this developed, Pioquinto denied the accusation that the provincial government employs IT experts or trolls.

Delgado confirmed that he indeed gave a “verbal” order to the PSF to secure important effects and donated articles being stored in the People’s Mansion.

“I can confirm na after typhoon Odette diha gayud tay instruction sa PSF [Provincial Security Force] nga pinanguluhan ni Col. Sancho Bernales, retired colonel, retired provincial director nga maoy pangulo sa PSF nga i-secure ang mansion tungod kay naa tay gi-stock nga generators ug uban pang mga donations gikan sa donors or local government units,” Delgado told Albarado during the interview.

Likewise, there is a need to secure the People’s Mansion because there are sensitive documents of the National Task Force-End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), Delgado quipped.

The People’s Mansion, in the past, was used for ceremonial functions, but most of these functions are now being done at the new Capitol, Delgado explained.

Moreover, Delgado explained that even if the People’s Mansion is a public facility, it doesn’t mean that it is automatic that people can just enter the edifice without permission. Even before typhoon Odette, the public cannot just enter the People’s Mansion without permission, Delgado emphasized.

The PLO said people can still enter the People’s Mansion if they can get the necessary permission and only if they have legitimate reason to visit.
